There is a vibrant energy within the air as Newcastillians brace themselves for the biggest event on Newcastle’s social calendar.
In a matter of days, the 2019 Winter Festival will officially begin, warming up the community with an awesome line-up of entertainment, musicians and activities.
Unlike previous years, there are a few changes to this year’s Winter Festival. Ticket sales are one of those changes, something which many will welcome.
Ticket prices are R70 per adult, R50 per child and for children under 6 and senior citizens over the age of 65, entrance is free.
Furthermore, the Winter Festival committee has removed the 7pm cut-off. This means the public can come and go as they please. However, the community is encouraged to remember their stamp when leaving.
Adding to the festivities, Capitec Bank will be the main sponsor of the Winter Festival. One of the many benefits to Capitec Bank being the main sponsor is, Newcastillians won’t need to carry around that much cash. Pay points will be available at the entrance of the Winter Festival and certain stalls, making it more convenient for all.
For those who wish to avoid standing in queues for tickets, they can acquire tickets to the Winter Festival online by going to www.ticketrush.co.za
In terms of entertainment, there is so much for the community to enjoy.

Then there is CPW wrestling for wrestling fans to enjoy, as well as the Planet Fitness strongman for the fitness enthusiasts.
Next, there is the very first Funduro, which is set to take place at the 2019 Winter Festival.
This will be a 250m Obstacle loop track, which will be built on the Show Grounds for bikers to put their skills to the test.

The Kakiebos Funduro will begin on Thursday, April 25, with the practice rounds. This will take place from 2pm until 6pm. On Friday, April 26, the race day will take place. On the race day, each rider will race against time and the winner will be crowned thereafter.
This will be followed on Saturday, April 27, with an enduro race that will start and finish at the Show Grounds.
Chopper flips will also be available this year, along with a Show and Shine competition on Saturday.
With an epic line-up and other forms of entertainment, be sure not to miss out on the 2019 Winter Festival.
