WORLD NEWS: Multiple police officers respond to eight-legged intruder

Multiple police officers descended on a house in Western Australia on January 1, expecting to find a grisly scene.

A passer-by walking past the house heard a screaming toddler, while a man repeatedly shouted, “Why don’t you die?”

Hearing the commotion, he contacted the police. Determined to save the child’s life. However, the police were met with a rather humorous situation on arriving at the house.

At the house in suburban Perth, the police found a man trying to kill a spider. Yes, a spider. Multiple officers were contacted to investigate a man trying to kill a spider.

The incident sparked a great deal of humour, with the Wanneroo Police taking to social media on Wednesday, January 2. In the tweet, the police said there were no injuries during the spider incident, “except to the spider.”

While the tweet was later deleted, it was met with humour by Twitter users. Ensuring the New Year started with laughter.

The man responsible for the rather humorous chain of events apologises for the inconvenience. However, he suffers from arachnophobia and the fact that the arachnid put up a fight resulted in the incident making international headlines, lighting up social media.

How else do you describe a spider to the police?

Well done to the Wanneroo Police for responding and ensuring the eight-legged intruder did not wreak havoc.
