Four men are now facing the chance of spending their holiday season behind bars. Their crime? Being in possession of drugs and suspected stolen goods.
From November 30 to December 2, the oSizweni Policing area held an intelligence-driven operation in conjunction with the Newcastle Cluster Task Team and oSizweni Crime Prevention unit.

On November 30, the officers recovered a stolen dishwasher from a home in Section A, oSizweni.

Then on December 2, the officers returned to Section A, Osizweni, to investigate two households. At the homes, suspected stolen property was recovered. These items are:
- Two Eco speakers, black and red in colour.
- One HD digital satellite dish decoder. Black in colour,
- Two perfumes.
- A total of 23 music CDs.
- One remote control.
- One cell phone charger.
- 11 wooden washing pegs.
- One Samsung DVD player.
- One sub-woofer.
On the same day, the officers went to a house in Section D, oSizweni. At the house, they recovered three refuse bags filled with dagga. The dry loose dagga weighing in at a staggering 11.98kg. While dagga is legal for private capacity, it is still illegal to sell it.

With four suspects taken into custody for suspected stolen goods and dagga, the operation is considered a success. The suspects will now appear in the Madadeni Magistrate Court.
In a separate incident, the oSizweni Policing area conducted an intelligence-driven operation with the assistance of the oSizweni Crime Prevention Unit.
Following up on information regarding drugs, the officers went to a house at Kubheka Stand in Blaauwbosch. At the house, the officers recovered three full mandrax tablets and a half a mandrax tablet.
The suspect will now face charges for drug possession in Madadeni Magistrate Court.
Well done to the officers for apprehending the suspects.
