A deep sense of warmth filled Olive Manor on Saturday, June 2. Log fires keeping winter’s clutches at bay as guests gathered to celebrate a decade of professionalism.
But who could possibly have people leave the comfort of their warm homes on a cool winter’s night? For many, Liana Engelbrecht is more than an optometrist. She is a woman who is dedicated to not only providing proper eye care but aiding in restoring one’s eyesight.
On Saturday, she celebrated the tenth anniversary of her practice. “I would like to thank God, as it is through His glory and grace that I have been here for 10 years,” she smiled to her guests.
With God’s assistance, her professionalism and the constant support of the community, Liana Engelbrecht is an integral part of Newcastle’s community. Her compassion and sincerity, a beacon of light.

Following Liana thanking her guests for their constant support, she introduced the guest speaker of the evening. As a motivational talker and friend, Marinda de Jager spoke about the importance of keeping their eyes on their vision for the future.
“Too many people are near-sighted and neglect their far-sightedness,” she explained. Discussing Jeremiah from the Bible, Marinda explained how important it was for one to constantly look towards God and His eternal vision. By going to God, one’s meaning in life will be found. “Jeremiah, himself, had to go to God and ask what he needed to do.”

Marinda further commended Liana for always keeping her eyes on God and the community she served. Following Liana’s and Marinda’s speeches, guests enjoyed an evening of socialising and celebrating Liana’s 10-year anniversary.
Congratulations Liana Engelbrecht, we look forward to another 10 years of brilliance!
