The South African Police Service (SAPS) stated that it had identified Ngcobo as a key figure in an ongoing investigation and is urging residents to provide any information that could lead to his capture.
According to Newcastle SAPS Spokesperson Lizzy Arumugam, Ngcobo is wanted in connection with a fraudulent home renovation scheme that defrauded two clients of a combined R170,000.00. The victims, residents of Newcastle, entrusted Ngcobo with substantial payments for home improvement projects based on his assurances of quality work.
Arumugam further detailed the extent of the deception, noting that Ngcobo abandoned one property after partial demolition, leaving it with significant structural damage that has rendered it unsafe. The second property saw no work whatsoever, with Ngcobo absconding after receiving payment, leaving the victims financially and emotionally impacted.

Law enforcement has established that Ngcobo is known to drive a brown Kia Picanto, which is believed to be stolen and fitted with false number plates to evade detection.
Arumugam also cautioned that Ngcobo may be operating under an alias to further obscure his identity and could be accompanied by a pregnant woman, potentially complicating efforts to locate him.
To ensure public safety, authorities strongly advise against approaching or engaging with Ngcobo if sighted. Instead, residents are encouraged to report any information regarding his whereabouts to Constable SB Tshabalala on 034 314 6202. The SAPS emphasises that community cooperation is critical to resolving this case and preventing further harm. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to aid the investigation while protecting informants’ identities.
The Newcastle community’s vigilance and cooperation are essential in assisting law enforcement to locate Ngcobo and prevent further fraudulent activities.

Residents are encouraged to remain alert and report any relevant information promptly to aid in bringing this matter to a swift resolution.

Its funny that SAPS find this k8nd of fraud important but when we want a well known fraudster investigated they refuse to open any cases against this well know person. Then he has the audacity to open cases against his victims…. where is the fairness in that???
Is saps willing to pay a reward for his capture?
