Trump's Executive Order: No More U.S. Aid for South Africa Over Racial Policies

In a decisive move, President Donald J. Trump of the United States has officially enacted sanctions against South Africa. This pivotal decision came into effect after Trump signed an executive order on Friday, 7 February 2025, decisively cutting off all financial aid to the country among other elements. This is due to a range issues brought to light concerning the South African goverment.

As per Trump’s statement issued by The White House, the American President stated that as by the authority vested in him as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, the following has hereby been ordered:

(The following is as officially published on the White House website):

Section 1 -Purpose:

In shocking disregard of its citizens’ rights, the Republic of South Africa (South Africa) recently enacted Expropriation Act 13 of 2024 (Act), to enable the government of South Africa to seize ethnic minority Afrikaaners’ agricultural property without compensation.

This Act follows countless government policies designed to dismantle equal opportunity in employment, education, and business, and hateful rhetoric and government actions fuelling disproportionate violence against racially disfavoured landowners.
In addition, South Africa has taken aggressive positions towards the United States and its allies, including accusing Israel, not Hamas, of genocide in the International Court of Justice, and reinvigorating its relations with Iran to develop commercial, military, and nuclear arrangements.

“The United States cannot support the government of South Africa’s commission of rights violations in its country or its ‘undermining United States foreign policy, which poses national security threats to our Nation, our allies, our African partners, and our interests,” stated Trump.

Section 2 – Policy:

It is the policy of the United States that, as long as South Africa continues these unjust and immoral practices that harm our Nation:

·         The United States shall not provide aid or assistance to South Africa; and

·         the United States shall promote the resettlement of Afrikaner refugees escaping government-sponsored race-based discrimination, including racially discriminatory property confiscation.

Section 3 – Assistance:

·         All executive departments and agencies (agencies), including the United States Agency for International Development, shall, to the maximum extent allowed by law, halt foreign aid or assistance delivered or provided to South Africa, and shall promptly exercise all available authorities and discretion to halt such aid or assistance.

·         The head of each agency may permit the provision of any such foreign aid or assistance that, in the discretion of the relevant agency head, is necessary or appropriate.

Section 4 – Refugee Resettlement and Other Humanitarian Considerations:

The Secretary of State and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall take appropriate steps, consistent with law, to prioritise humanitarian relief, including admission and resettlement through the United States Refugee Admissions Program, for Afrikaners in South Africa who are victims of unjust racial discrimination.  Such plan shall be submitted to the President through the Assistant to the President and Homeland Security Advisor.

 Section 5 – General Provisions:

(a)     Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

1. The authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or
2. The functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(b)  This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(c)  This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

But what exactly does this mean? In practical terms, this means South Africa will no longer receive U.S. financial support, potentially impacting various sectors from health to education. Additionally, this move signals a significant shift in U.S. foreign policy towards South Africa, affecting diplomatic and economic relations.

  1. This really makes questionable the calibre of the leader in the US President?

What kind of a leader takes decisions based or hearsay?

Where are these land grabs he is talking about? I mean in which part of South Africa are these happening 🤔

    1. Are you joking? The South African government has 141 race laws against white people. They have, for decades, lied to black people and blamed whites for the situation the country is in. I know multiple people who have had their land taken by the government. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The problem is, in South Africa, most black people believe the propaganda created by the government, when the evidence that it is all a lie is right in their lives. Eskom, dead. Transnet, dead. National health system, dead. Education system, dead. Need I go on. That was not a white person, that is the ANC. Apart from this, white people are treated so poorly by municipalities, government departments and the general public because of this “white hate culture”. White people can’t go to most parts of their own country as they will be attacked or worse. You have no idea what that is like, to live in a world where all you want to do is make a life for yourself and your family, but have ALL of these crazy things to deal with. I mean, Julius stood in a stadium fulled with people chanting kill the boer. He is just one of millions who would love to see us all dead or gone. You cannot imagine what it is like to constantly be persecuted and oppressed, and I am not talking about someone just saying an ugly word that upsets you. I am speaking about real life racism and hatred. Welcome to being white in South Africa. I hope this opens your eyes to the world around you and why the world is turning its attention to our broken country.

  2. We are in for a hard time effecting millions of us I hope our government changes these terrible expropriation of land policy immediately this is aweful

  3. So as many have predicted, we back to Sanctions… BRAVO ANC…BRAVO… U NOW ON PAR WITH THE APARTHEID REGIME…

  4. Why you always misinterpret the things. Trying to misinform the world about south Africa. I think it is time for white people to decide whether they want to remain in South Africa or leave.
