The grim find was made by a passerby who, horrified by the sight of the baby’s body among the litter and debris, immediately called for help.

Upon arrival, the police found the infant’s small feet partially hidden beneath the skip, with the baby’s head barely visible.

ER24 paramedics, alerted by the South African Police Service (SAPS), rushed to the scene, but unfortunately declared the little infant deceased at the location. The paramedics, impacted by the tragic situation, noted that the baby appeared to be premature, measuring no more than 30 centimetres in length.

An official present at the scene provided further heart-rending details, revealing that while the baby’s body had not yet decomposed, it had already suffered from scavenger activity.

“It looked like something had eaten a piece of the baby’s one leg, as the bone was exposed, and there were wounds on the face as well. It was truly a sad scene,” said the source.

The police have launched a thorough investigation into this tragic event and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Residents are encouraged to report any leads to either Newcastle or Madadeni SAPS.

This devastating discovery has left all who were involved deeply affected. Share your thoughts on this tragic event in the comment section below.

Why leave a helpless baby anywhere ?? ME ? Who cannot have kids , who wants to be a mom, finds this very sad. Why not take the baby to the Crisis centre ? Home Meah ? Leave the baby at the hospital ? Why would a mother discard a helpless baby like a piece of trash ?
