Election Day has ended, and voters are waiting to see who will take the victory.
The Electoral Commission in KwaZulu-Natal reports that, despite minor logistical issues in some voting stations, at least 80% of voting stations opened on time, with 1 263 352 (or 23%) voters having cast their ballots by 4 pm.
Nationally, the ANC has 46.15% of the vote, while the DA has 25.28%.
According to the IEC Results Dashboard, the ANC has 49.66% of the vote in Newcastle, followed by the IFP with 15.48%. So far, the EFF has received 15.09% of the vote.
The ANC leads with 41.89% in Dannhauser, followed by the IFP with 31.93% and the EFF with 10.13%.
So far, eMadlangeni (Utrecht) results show the IFP leading with 37.34%, followed by the ANC with 31.24%, and the EFF with 10.26%.
According to AbaQulusi (Vryheid), the IFP is currently leading, with 50.1% of the vote. The ANC comes in second with 36.7%, and APEMO comes in third with 3.11%.
eNdumeni Municipality (Dundee) faces stiff competition, with the ANC receiving 38.04% of the vote so far, with the IFP coming in a close second with 36.94%. The DA is in third place, with 17.09%.
The Alfred Duma Municipality (Ladysmith) is another IFP stronghold, with the political party holding 54.46% of the vote.
The ANC is in second place, with 28.48% of the vote. So far, APEMO has received 4.85% support.
