
South Africans are finding themselves enduring a new way of life, facing a series of challenges during the current pandemic.
Globally, there are over 13.9 million COVID-19 cases and over 8.1 million recoveries. The current number of COVID-19 related deaths stands over 592 690.
As the number of cases steadily increase around the globe, South Africa also seeing local cases rising dramatically. On Thursday evening, July 16, Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize reported that SA has exceeded the 300 000 mark.
As of Thursday evening, South Africa now has 324 221 confirmed cases. The national number of COVID-19 deaths stands at 4 669, while the number of recoveries stands at 165 591, which roughly translates to a recovery rate of 51%.
With the number of cases increasing across the country, so are the number of cases in the Amajuba District.
On Thursday, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health also released the COVID-19 stats for KZN.
There are currently 1308 confirmed cases in the Amajuba District, with eight COVID-19 related deaths. The number of recoveries stands at 222.
As the number of cases increases daily, continue to practice social distancing, wash and sanitise your hands on a regular basis, as well as wear face masks when going out.
