Tragedy struck this afternoon, June 7, when three vehicles collided on the P483, the road between Madadeni and Osizweni.
Jan-Henk van Vuuren, WATCO Emergency Medical Services, explains the incident took place at 12.30pm.
When emergency services arrived on the scene, they found four people had already succumbed to their injuries and were declared dead on the scene. A patient in critical condition was rushed to hospital for medical care.
Emergency services are still on scene, as there are still people entrapped in the cars. The Fire Department used the jaws of life to remove the people entrapped in the vehicles.
The road between Madadeni and Osizweni is currently closed, with traffic being diverted through Madadeni as emergency personnel attend to the incident.
