The Buddhist Light International Organisation, commonly known as BLIA, is an organisation dedicated to the upliftment of communities.

On Tuesday, May 5, BLIA Newcastle contributed to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Going to the Newcastle Provincial Hospital, BLIA donated medical face masks and sanitiser to the staff of the hospital.

“Medical staff are at the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. They work extremely hard to protect the community. This is our way to contributing and showing our thanks,” said BLIA Chairperson, Cheryl Ho.

Khulekani Dlamini of the hospital, thanked BLIA for the generous donation. “The COVID-19 pandemic is everyone’s enemy, and this is a time, where we must unite. On behalf of the hospital and the Department of Health, I would like to thank BLIA for the donation. This will assist us.”

Well done to BLIA for showing their support to the medical sector during these trying times.
