Determined to eradicate crime from the Osizweni area, the Osizweni Police are conducting a series of intelligence-driven operations, targeting people believed to be involved in criminal acts.
In a recent intelligence-driven operation, the Osizweni Policing Area joined forces with the Newcastle Cluster Task Team and the Osizweni Crime Prevention Unit.
Following up on information regarding drugs, the team of police officers investigated a house in Section A, Osizweni. Through a thorough search of the house, the officers recovered 18 small parcels of heroin.
Receiving further information, the team searched another house in Section A, Osizweni. However, this time the search did not pertain to narcotics.
During the search of the house, the police recovered a pair of red Allstars, a red pair of Nike takkies and one white desk fan.
Newcastle police spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Ncube says these items are linked to a housebreaking and theft case, which took place on February 1 in the Manzana area, Osizweni.
With both suspects now in police custody, they will appear in the Madadeni Magistrate Court.
Well done to the officers involved in the intelligence-driven operation.
