
Osizweni SAPS are clamping down on crime; holding a series of intelligence-driven operations in the pursuit of justice.
This follows the arrest of five men, all of which are allegedly involved in criminal activity.
Captain Jabulani Nucbe, Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, explains that upon receiving information regarding drugs, the Osizweni Policing Area joined forces with the Osizweni Crime Prevention.
At a house situated at Madi Stand, Osizweni, the officers recovered four full mandrax tablets, two halves of mandrax tablets and a further four quarters of mandrax tablets.
Following the raid, the officers proceeded to a house situated at Sikhosana Stand, Blaauwbosch. At the house, they recovered a staggering 17 full mandrax tablets and another two halves of mandrax tablets.
In a separate incident, the officers recovered four full mandrax tablets and one quarter tablet of mandrax from a suspected drug dealer in Osizweni.
A further two men were arrested, when the Osizweni Policing Area officials found them with a bag of woman’s clothing. They were taken into custody, when they could not explain to the officers why they had the woman’s clothing on their possession. Police suspect the clothing is stolen.
The drugs have a street value of R1 100.
