As Newcastillians find themselves facing a fair deal of frustration with loadshedding, it seems there is yet another dark cloud hanging over the town.
Recently, many have welcomed the rains. The heavens opening and cooling down the parched earth after the excruciating heat. Yet, as welcome as the rain is, the South African Weather Service has taken to social media, warning of possible localised floods in certain areas of the country.
According to the South African Weather Service’s post on Twitter, the organisation claims that heavy rain can lead to localised floods in Northern KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

During this time, pedestrians and motorists are urged to practise caution while travelling on the roads.
Motorists are also encouraged to avoid speeding, as well as use their headlights when driving.
As Newcastillians can expect rain until Friday, December 13, be sure to keep safe and have a great festive season.
