
After tireless efforts, police divers have located the remaining three people who drowned on Thursday, November 7.
The incident took place when the four victims people participated in a ritual in the Ngagane River, running through Madadeni.
Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Ncube explains that while performing the ritual, the group experienced some difficulty in the water.
While two managed to escape the waters, the remaining four were not as fortunate. The traditional healer performing the ritual was among the survivors. He was taken to Madadeni Hospital for treatment.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS), WATCO Emergency Medical Services, Newcastle K9 unit, as well as divers, were all on the scene.
Captain Ncube adds an inquest docket is under investigation at the Madadeni SAPS and the matter is subject to further investigation.
