Newcastle SAPS requires the community’s assistance to locate suspects

The Newcastle SAPS are often at the forefront in the fight against crime. However, there are times when the police require the community’s assistance.

Newcastle SAPS Detectives are appealing to the Newcastle community for information, which can assist them in locating and arresting two men involved in a case of common robbery.

The incident took place on Voortrekker Road, September 7, at 11.30 am, next to Habibia Butchery.

Suspect One

The suspect is between 30 to 35 years old. He is dark in complexion, has dark brown/black eyes and is between 1.80 to 1.85 metres tall.

Suspect Two

The suspect is between 40 to 45 years old with dark brown/ black eyes. He is medium in complexion and is between 1.70 to 1.75 metres tall.

In a separate incident, Newcastle SAPS are searching for individuals who might have witnessed a collision that took place on September 19, at 5.30 pm.

The incident occurred at the intersection of the Dannhauser and Normandien Road on the N11.

Newcastle police spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Ncube explains the collision involved three motor vehicles.

The one vehicle was a Toyota Quantum, which was travelling from Ladysmith to Newcastle, with passengers. The second vehicle involved a Toyota Cressida travelling from Dannhauser, while the third vehicle was an Audi travelling from Newcastle towards Ladysmith.

Two people died in the horrific collision.
