The initial phase of declassifying Jeffrey Epstein’s contentious list has been officially unveiled. This development follows an announcement from United States Attorney General Pamela Bondi, who, in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), authorised the public release of previously classified files pertaining to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his sexual exploitation of more than 250 underage girls at his residences in New York, Florida, and various other locations.

The U.S. Department of Justice has clarified that this inaugural batch of declassified documents predominantly comprises materials that, while previously leaked, had not been formally disclosed by the U.S. government until now.

“This Department of Justice is following through on President Trump’s commitment to transparency and lifting the veil on the disgusting actions of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators,” declared Attorney General Pamela Bondi on Thursday, 27 February 2025.

Furthermore, she elucidated that this initial release of files on Thursday illuminates the expansive web of Epstein’s network, marking the beginning of long-overdue accountability for the public. Reinforcing this stance, FBI Director Kash Patel asserted, “The FBI is entering a new era—one that will be defined by integrity, accountability, and the unwavering pursuit of justice. There will be no cover-ups, no missing documents, and no stone left unturned — and anyone from the prior or current Bureau who undermines this will be swiftly pursued. If there are gaps, we will find them. If records have been hidden, we will uncover them. And we will bring everything we find to the DOJ to be fully assessed and transparently disseminated to the American people as it should be. The oath we take is to the Constitution, and under my leadership, that promise will be upheld without compromise.”

The U.S. Department of Justice further disclosed that Attorney General Bondi had demanded the entirety of Epstein-related files.

Initially, the Department received approximately 200 pages of documents in response. However, Bondi was subsequently informed of thousands of additional pages tied to Epstein’s investigation and indictment that had not been previously revealed. The Department noted that the Attorney General has since directed the FBI to deliver the remaining documents by Friday, 28 February 2025, while assigning FBI Director Kash Patel the task of probing because her original request for all documents was not fully honoured.

“The Department remains committed to transparency and intends to release the remaining documents upon review and redaction to protect the identities of Epstein’s victims,” affirmed the Department.
