His disappearance was reported by his close friend, Andre van Staden, who has been leading efforts to find him.

“Flippie went missing two weeks ago. I had spoken to him on his cellphone shortly before he disappeared. He had been staying at the old Commando building near Raphah, and after our conversation, I went to his residence to drop off a few items for him, including a mattress. However, when I arrived, he was gone. I was informed that he had been seen getting into a white VW Golf and was driven to Jordan Street, where he would be able to stay,” explained van Staden.

Despite extensive searches along Jordan Street and numerous phone calls, no sign of Botes has been found, heightening concerns for his safety.

“It isn’t like Flippie to ignore his phone – he always makes sure it’s charged in case of emergencies. I am extremely worried, especially since he inherited money from his late father. We fear that he may have been taken for his money. As a precaution, I have managed to block access to his bank account,” added van Staden.

With Botes’s sudden and unexplained disappearance weighing heavily on those who care for him, the Newcastle community is urged to come forward with any information that could help locate him.
