According to Ellor, he had left his home on Silverboom Street, Arbor Park, at 4:30 pm to play with friends down the street.

What was supposed to be a joyful afternoon turned into a nightmare when the boy did not return home. His distraught mother, consumed with worry, began frantically searching and contacted law enforcement, opening a case to report her child missing.

At the time of his disappearance, Limise Maqhube was wearing a grey t-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Despite exhaustive efforts to locate him, including searching the local shopping centre, Limise has vanished without a trace. Ellor confirmed that no one had seen the boy, leading the Newcastle CPF and Newcastle SAPS to appeal to the community for assistance in finding the child.

“We are calling on Newcastle residents who have seen Limise Maqhube or have any information on his whereabouts to contact the Newcastle CPF or the Investigating Officer from the Newcastle SAPS immediately,” said Ellor.

The contact numbers are as follows:

  • Newcastle CPF Chairperson Ismaeel Dhalech: 072 136 7677
  • Newcastle CPF Deputy Chair Aasuf Cassim: 065 879 2316
  • Newcastle CPF Secretary Talha Randeree: 083 254 5943
  • Newcastle CPF Deputy Secretary Belinda Ellor: 071 404 3575
  • Newcastle SAPS Investigating Officer Sergeant Mazibuko: 082 376 3081.

As Newcastle residents are urged to help in the search for the missing 11-year-old, Ellor has also issued a warning to parents to remain vigilant. “Always keep a watchful eye on your child when they are playing outside, irrespective of the area in which you live,” she advised.
