A vibrant energy is electrifying Dundee as preparations race ahead for the much-anticipated 2024 Dundee July Horse Riding Race Extravaganza, taking place on Saturday, 20 July 2024, at the Dundee Horse Racing Track.
Hosted by the Department of Sport, the uMzinyathi District Municipality, and key stakeholders, this year marks an incredible 19 years of the Dundee July since its launch in 2005.
“It has grown from strength to strength over the years. This year’s event will definitely be bigger and better,” declared the uMzinyathi District Municipality’s Communications Unit. This year’s theme, “African Jewel,” promises a dazzling celebration!
Adding to the excitement, uMzinyathi District Municipality Mayor, Cllr PMS Ngubane, announced a host of thrilling activities leading up to the main event.
According to the uMzinyathi District Municipality’s Communications Unit, the Dundee July Street Carnival will light up on Friday night, 19 July 2024, showcasing the very best of Dundee’s arts, fashion, and entertainment. Guests can expect a lively atmosphere filled with colour and creativity.
Moreover, Cllr Ngubane highlighted the significant economic boost this star-studded event brings to the entire uMzinyathi District.
“B&Bs in Dundee are already full. The visitors will boost food businesses, transport businesses, township economy, even the small businesses will benefit. We encourage people to come in numbers to enjoy with us.”
With an exhilarating carnival set to kick off in Dundee on Friday night, followed by the highly anticipated Dundee July on Saturday, the stage is set for an unforgettable weekend of fun and festivities!
