While the report generally indicates that a majority of the dams in the region remain healthy, some are in need of substantial rainfall to replenish their levels.

Here’s an in-depth look at the dam levels in KwaZulu-Natal:

  • Albert Falls Dam: The water levels at Albert Falls Dam have declined slightly from last week’s 95.6% to the current 94.8%.
  • Bivane Dam: Bivane Dam has witnessed a noticeable drop, falling from last week’s 98.6% to the current 94.2%.
  • Craigie Burns Dam: Craigie Burns Dam is presently at 100.3%, a minor increase from the previous week’s 100.2%.
  • Driel Barrage Dam: Driel Barrage Dam has experienced a decrease in water levels, dropping from last week’s 99.3% to the current 92.5%.
  • Goedertrouw Dam: Goedertrouw Dam remains stable, with its water levels currently at 99.2%, compared to last week’s 99.4%.
  • Hazelemere Dam: Hazelemere Dam’s levels are a concern, currently at 50.6%, down from last week’s 51.5%.
  • Hluhluwe Dam: Hluhluwe Dam is at 95.3%, showing a slight decline from the previous week’s 96.2%.
  • Inanda Dam: Inanda Dam’s water levels stand at 94.4%, down from last week’s 95.3%.
  • Klipfontein Dam: Klipfontein Dam’s water levels currently rest at 94.4%, whereas they were at 95.3% the previous week.
  • Mearns Dam: Mearns Dam has experienced a 3% decrease in water levels, declining from last week’s 84.2% to the current 81%.
  • Midmar Dam: Midmar Dam’s levels are currently at 84.6%, compared to the previous week’s 86.2%.
  • Nagle Dam: Nagle Dam has noted a slight decrease in levels, standing at 85.8% this week, compared to the former week’s 86.4%.
  • Ntshingwayo (Chelmsford) Dam: Newcastle’s Ntshingwayo Dam currently stands at 70%, showing a minor drop from last week’s 70.7%.
  • Pongolapport Dam: Pongolapport Dam’s levels are at 83.8%, down from last week’s 84.2%.
  • Spioenkop Dam: Spioenkop Dam has experienced a slight decline, with water levels at 89.9% this week, compared to last week’s 90.2%.
  • Spring Grove Dam: Spring Grove Dam’s levels currently stand at 76.6%, with an insignificant difference from last week’s 77%.
  • Wagendrift Dam: Wagendrift Dam’s levels remain steady at 91.5% this week, compared to last week’s 92.6%.
  • Woodstock Dam: Woodstock Dam’s levels this week are unchanged from last week, standing at a steady 98.1%.
  • Zaaihoek Dam: Zaaihoek Dam also remains unchanged this week, with levels standing at 90.6%.
