Taking a proactive stance against crime, Ladysmith SAPS visited numerous schools throughout the Northern KwaZulu-Natal town this past week.
Providing a rundown, SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basheer Khan explained, “Ladysmith Visible Policing and Social Crime Units recently conducted a random search at local schools.” With the police officers looking for any illicit drugs and weapons, Khan additionally stated that during the random search at one school, police found abandoned bags of cannabis.
During the searches, Warrant Officer Khan added, “The team used the opportunity and conducted awareness on the negative effects of having a criminal record, dangerous weapons, the ill-effects of substance abuse and bullying.”
