500 players attend MYO Soccer Tournament in Newcastle, KZN

After a few years of seeing not much action, the Paradise Sports Grounds welcomed the annual Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) Seven-A-Side Soccer Tournament 

Taking place on Saturday, 17 September 2022 the annual soccer fixture is one that sees scores of football enthusiasts from around KZN and MP flooding the local sporting grounds.

Growing in strength, this year, the MYO Soccer Tournament enjoyed an impressive 50 teams and a total of 500 players. The teams were comprised of Northern KZN, the Midlands and Mpumalanga participants.

With a sense of camaraderie prevailing throughout the Paradise Sports Grounds, the event was a showcase of great soccer and sportsmanship. 

Looking at the final results of the day :

  • Under 8 champions:
    • Madadeni Maktaab
    • Runners up: AnNoor (Newcastle)
  • Under 10 champions:
    • Champions Islamic College (NN)
    • Runners up: Siraat Ul Haq (Estcourt)
  • Under 12 champions:
    • Siraat Ul Haq (Estcourt)
    • Runners up: AnNoor
  • Under 14 Champions:  
    • Islamic College Newcastle
    • Runners up: Tezza Newcastle
  • Under 16 champions:
    • Tezza Newcastle
    • Runners up: Siraat Ul Haq ( Estcourt)
