According to Media Liaison Officer at KZN Emergency Medical Services, Robert McKenzie, on Sunday evening, 29 August 2021, a horrific accident occurred on the N2 highway near Mtwalume on the South Coast.

The collision involved a minibus and a car resulting in two people being injured, with one sustaining critical and the other serious injuries.

“They were treated on the scene by KZN EMS paramedics, before being transported to hospital.”

Following this, on the N11 at the Amajuba Pass on Friday, 27 August 2021, multiple vehicles, a minibus, and a truck collided, ending in a massive collision. According to McKenzie, “Paramedics treated 21 patients which ranged from serious to minor.” However, sadly, one person sustained fatal injuries.

While the exact cause of both the incidents is unclear at this stage, McKenzie says the police are investigating them.
