On Sunday, 25 April 2021, a 14-year-old girl from Ladysmith was allegedly raped by an 18-year-old suspect. According to the police, preliminary information reveals the victim was woken up at about 3.30 am on Sunday morning from the young man violating her.
The suspect and his mother were guests of the victim’s mom and had spent the night at their home. Following the rape, the teenager woke her mother up and told her what had happened. The girl’s mother then accompanied her to the police station, where they reported the case. The alleged rapist was then taken into custody and investigations are underway.
