The wheels of justice are in motion with yet another suspect appearing in Newcastle Magistrate’s Court in connection with the murders of Glen and Vida Rafferty.
In a statement from the police, the suspect was charged with the double murder of the Normandien farm couple. Doctor Vikani Ngwenya also faces charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Appearing in court on Monday, 19 October 2020, Ngwenya was charged with the crimes, following his arrest on Friday, 16 October 2020. At the time of the arrest, he was taken into custody with four other suspects. Two of the men were questioned regarding the horrific crime in Normandien, of which Ngwenya was one.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority’s Natasha Kara, Ngwenya has been added to the charge sheet, alongside the first suspect, Siyabonga Macu.
Macu appeared in the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court on 28 September 2020. His case was postponed until 29 October 2020.

Ngwenya’s case has been postponed until Monday, 26 October 2020.
