Being admitted to a hospital for a procedure can be a daunting and time-consuming task, requiring you at times, to go into hospital a day before, in order to prepare for your stay.

However, as a hospital who cares for its patients in more ways than one, Mediclinic is taking leaping strides in ensuring their patients receive not only the best medical care but also effective and efficient care. No longer do people have to spend hours preparing to go into hospital for their respective procedures.

Rather, Mediclinic now offers online pre-admission. This means you can prepare for your stay at Mediclinic from the comfort of your home.

How does the process work? It is quite simple.

Step one – Complete Pre-Admission:

  • Go to mediclinic.co.za
  • Click on Patients
  • Click Online Pre-Admission Form
  • Fill in your details on the form

Step two – When you arrive:

Go the Reception Desk and have your ID Book or Smart-ID, as well as your medical aid card ready.

If you have completed the pre-admission form online, you will only need to verify your details and sign to accept the conditions of admission. However, if you haven’t completed a pre-admission form, the Mediclinic staff at the Reception Desk will gladly assist you.

Step three – Settling in:

After finishing at the Reception Desk, a porter will escort you to the nursing unit, where a nurse will take down your medical history. Once that is complete, the nurse will then talk to you about the procedure and explain what you can expect.

It is advisable to leave valuables such as cellphones, wallets and jewellery at home. You can even ask the person who brought you into the hospital to take these items back with them after they leave you.

With these three easy steps, you can rest assured that your admission process at Mediclinic, for your procedure is quicker and less time-consuming.
