It’s springtime and it’s time to get your weekend on

Spring is in full bloom, with the new season bringing about a welcome change to winter’s cool mornings, chilly nights and bleak colours.

As vibrant colours brighten nature’s scenery and Newcastillians welcome the warm weather, what can we expect this weekend?

Outdoor Spring Fling

September 7 – A vibrant atmosphere is set to prevail at Newcastle Corner, with the annual Planet Fitness Just Gym Outdoor Spring Fling.

The annual event will see Planet Fitness take its class outdoors, inviting the Newcastle community for a day of fitness while focusing on a worthy cause.

This year’s Outdoor Spring Fling is dedicated to Morester Children’s Home, with the gym and Newcastle Corner dedicated to supporting the children at the youth the facility.

The event will kick off at 7 am with Just Ride, followed with Brazillian Booty Blast at 8 am, Pump It Abs at 8:45 am, 50 Shades Fitter at 9 am and Power Box at 10 am.

Entrance fee is R100, which is payable to www.foreverleavingalegacy.co.za or donations of canned foods, toiletries, toys or clothing.

Be sure to get your fitness on this Saturday in the name of charity.

Newcastle Oval Track

September 7 – The Newcastle Oval Track will be hosting its monthly racing event this Saturday. Starting at 6 pm, racing enthusiasts can look forward to an evening of adrenaline-fuelled racing.

With quads, Mini Flexis, V8 Flexis, Tin Tops, Hot Rods, 2.1 litres, 1660 Mods and Stock Rods taking to the track, be sure not to miss out on a night of racing fun.

Entrance Fee is R50 per adult, R20 for children under 12 and R10 per car.

Karou Charou

September 7 – One of South Africa’s most popular comedians, Karou Charou, is set to perform at Style & Grace Wedding and Conference Venue. The show will start at 7.30 pm.

Tickets are available at Maharanis Indian takeaway, Style & Grace Wedding and Conference Venue, as well as Quicket. The ticket price was R120 until September 1 and now will cost R150.

Get your tickets now and start your spring with side-splitting humour.
