In dire need of food and guidance, for 19 children in Ingogo, there is only one place which they can turn to and that is Hope in Christ Children’s Home.
Once a home for children, Hope in Christ now acts as a facility where children receive assistance with their homework as well as steady meals.
“We work closely with the local clinic, which identifies children in need. At present, we are helping 11 high school children and 8 primary school children,” says Joann Pienaar of Hope in Christ.
The high school children receive assistance with their English and Maths, ensuring they stand a better chance in securing bursaries for tertiary education. The children also receive computer classes, ensuring they remain up to date with the constant evolution of technology.
On Friday, August 2, President Plastics donated a staggering R10 000 to the Hope in Christ initiative plus beanies. This follows the President Plastics team hearing about Hope in Christ’s mission to aid the children of Ingogo.
“This donation is going to assist us greatly, especially in terms of fuel, as some of the children live a distance away and we take them home at night,” says Joann.
Following the donation, Joann thanks the President Plastics team, enthusing their contribution is warmly welcomed.
