The countdown for the SA Dirt National Championships has officially begun, with preparations in full swing.

Set to take place on October 5, the championships will be held at the Newcastle Oval Track and promises to be an adrenaline-fuelled event set to rev up the most passionate motorsport fans.

On the day an impressive number of drivers will descend on the Oval Track. Between 120 and 150 racers will be taking part in this exciting competition.

The drivers all belong to dirt clubs who fall under WOMZA (World of Motorsport ZA), with participants from as far as Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State are set to take part in the event.

With Newcastle Raceway Club set to host the impressive event, the track has to meet certain criteria to ensure it is a monumental success.

Rising to the challenge to assist the Oval Track, JPAN Green Energy Pty Ltd has donated floodlights, which are currently being erected around the track and in the pit.

Marketing Manager, Paul Korb explains the Oval Track team approached JPAN Green Energy Pty Ltd for assistance. Dedicated to giving back to the community, Korb says the company is thrilled to be part of the upcoming event.

“This is our way of giving back to the community. Furthermore, the Oval Track has been a part of Newcastle for the past 25 years and does a lot for the town’s people. Then there is the fact that this is the National Championships, which is a major thing for Newcastle.”

Manufacturers of the lights, JPAN Green Energy Pty Ltd contacted VME to assist with the installation.

With these great additions to the track, the event is set to be one for the books. Newcastillians are up for a spectacular day of racing.
