A day of colourful fun with Newcastle Oval Track

Braving a crisp winter’s morning, Newcastillians gathered at the Oval Track on Sunday morning, June 23.

The sound of laughter reverberating through the air as Newcastle Oval Track hosted its Family Fun Day. An event which catered to the entire community.

The day’s festivities began at 9 am, with a 5km Colour Run. With fitness enthusiasts uniting for an early morning run, the colour run saw participants embrace the event by covering each other with coloured powder as they took off.

For adrenaline junkies, there were suicide rides with the Oval Track racers and quad bike rides, all which added to the day’s high-octane fun.

For children, there was a colouring competition available to keep them entertained. A variety of stalls was also available on the day for the community to enjoy.

Zaakira Khan from the Newcastle Oval Track explains the purpose of the day was two-fold.

“It’s a fundraiser for the club and it’s a great day for the community to spend a family day out, enjoying some fun and action.”
