The time has come and the air at Paradise Sports Grounds is thick with anticipation and tension.
It is time for Paradise Cricket Club to face Newcastle Phoenix Cricket Club. On Wednesday evening, March 13, the two teams met each other for the 2018/2019 Newcastle District Cricket Association Night League finals.
Both teams have proven to be formidable throughout the year. Now in the final moments, it will be decided who will rise and prove victorious.
Winning the toss up, Phoenix voted that Paradise bat first.
Paradise managed to score a competitive 144 runs after 25 overs, with Braeden Coetzee securing 43 of the runs.
Determined to overtake the formidable target, Phoenix took to the pitch. But victory was not in sight, with Phoenix scoring 103 runs after 25 overs.
Paradise Cricket Club takes the night league and are the champions for the 2018/2019 year.
