Christmas is the one time of the year, where a family photo is an absolute must. A time when fond memories are captured and treasured.
But what is the use of a family photo if no one adds that festive touch to it? After all, it is the season to be jolly and one’s family photo needs to reflect the fun and joy linked to the special day.

However, there are times, when festive photos go wrong and become downright awkward and strange.
Here is our selection of the most awkward Christmas family photos ever taken. Be sure to submit yours.
Where is the festive joy?

Is it just me, or does this family look suuuper happy and full of that Christmas cheer?!? #familieswhohatechristmas
I take it they cheered the Grinch!
Uhmmm…. Mrs Santa, is that you?

I am not too certain what look the mom was going for. But I don’t think Mrs Claus would condone that type of outfit. Or is that why Santa Claus is so jolly and only leaves home once a year?
What the fudge?!

What the hillbilly highway is going on here?! Talk about awkward. Go put on some clothes, you leaf wearing weirdos! When drinking meets “good ideas”, this is the result.
Taking the fact that I found this image online, it is clear this family thought it’s okay to show others.
That’s a little strange, isn’t it?

The baby sums this one up in one priceless look, “WTF is going on, Dad is wearing a nappie”?!Is the woman trying to say she has a baby for a husband? Does he identify as an infant in an adult’s body? I have so many questions. It is awkward and unusual, but still not as weird as what’s to come on our list.
Red Riding Hood is that you?

Judging by the little girl’s facial expression, I take it that isn’t Red Riding Hood’s grandmother. Or just prior to snapping the pic, the photographer told her the truth about Santa.
Lighting up Christmas?

This awesome picture of a bloated Schalk Burger over Christmas will truly inspire that festive cheer.
Retro and awkward, good combination

And then this happened…told you there was worse than old “leaf family”. Many years after enjoying success on the cult movie, Napoleon Dynamite, Jon Heder turned to a life of, whatever is happening in this photo. From confusing backgrounds to terrified children this once in a lifetime image has it all.
When asked by the hairdresser which hairstyle he would like, he simply replied with ” Just mess my sh*t up.”
When a geek family takes a photo

Nothing says Christmas photo time quite like some jazz hands from old hyperactive Mom and a serial killer stance from serious as cancer Pops in the background.
Christmas is all about sharing, so get sharing!
Until next time, have yourself a FREAKY FRIDAY!!
