The long arm of the law is hammering down on the criminal element, as the oSizweni SAPS pursue justice.
On Tuesday, October 9, an intelligence-driven operation was conducted by oSizweni Policing area, with the assistance of oSizweni Detectives.

Following up on information regarding drugs and other criminal activities, the officers went to a house in Section B. On arrival, the officers recovered numerous goods which are suspected to be stolen.
The recovered items include:
· One black Nokia cell phone
· One Blackberry Curve cell phone
· One black power bank (charger)
· Various cosmetics
· One Nike bag
Furthermore, the officers also recovered three small plastic bags containing the drug Nyaope.
The suspect is now in police custody for possession of drugs and possession of suspected stolen goods. The drugs have an estimated street value of R300.
The suspected stolen items have an estimated combined value of R8 000. The items found on the suspect’s possession are allegedly from a house theft in oSizweni.
The suspect is in the custody of oSizweni Police for further questioning. Consequently, he will then face the relevant charges for the crime and appear in Madadeni Magistrate’s Court.
In a separate incident, an intelligence-driven operation in oSizweni on October 8, two men now face charges of drug possession.
The oSizweni Policing Area, working with officials from the oSizweni Crime Prevention Unit, received information about drugs in the area. Following up on the information, the police officials first went to a house in Section A.
On their arrival, they recovered half of a mandrax tablet, as well as two quarter mandrax tablets and R200. After taking the alleged dealer, into custody, the officers went to a house in Section E.
At this house, the officers recovered a total of ten full mandrax tablets. The suspect is now in police custody.
On a separate occasion, on October 6, the same task team apprehended a man for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The police officers received information regarding the man and his weapon. They went to Junction Tavern in oSizweni and found the suspect with a 9mm pistol, one empty magazine, live ammunition and a holster.
He will appear in Madadeni Magistrate’s Court.
