Cricket is often seen as a gentleman’s sport, forging friendships and reminding players that good sportsmanship is always the winner.
St Domincs Newcastle U/13 A cricket team took on Glencoe Primary’s U/13 team on Tuesday, August 14. This was St Dominics Newcastle’s U/13 team’s first match of the season.
With their peers cheering them on, the St Dominics Newcastle team fielded first, with Glencoe Primary taking to the batting pitch. While St Dominics put on a good show, Glencoe Primary managed to secure 156 runs for seven in 20 overs.
With the target set, St Dominics Newcastle took to the pitch. The need to win on home ground a necessity. However, victory was not meant to be. The team managed to score 101 runs for four, in 20 overs.
The St Dominics Newcastle U/13 A team will now seek victory in their next match against Utrecht on August 21.
