With the cricket season set for October, local cricket teams have united for a series of friendly matches to prepare them for the upcoming season. Starting the series of friendly matches was St Dominics Newcastle Cricket First team and Warriors Cricket Club.
The two teams faced each other in an epic match on Saturday, July 21, at St Dominics Newcastle’s on their brand new cricket pitch.
St Dominics opened the batting, making 62 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. With the target set, Warriors took to the pitch, determined to vanquish their opponents. Warriors managed to chase down the score by the 17th over, for the loss of six wickets.
Clinching the first win of the friendly series, Warriors are now looking forward to taking on Paradise Cricket Club on July 29.
