Food businesses in Newcastle are questioning whether health regulations and informal trading bylaws are being enforced consistently after raising concerns about food preparation, refrigeration, permits and trading practices across the CBD. The Newcastle Municipality says formal and informal vendors are subject to the same legal requirements.
