Newcastle Local Municipality has begun removing illegal structures from the CBD as part of a renewed informal trading compliance drive. The operation follows an enumeration process that identified 76 shacks, four Wendy houses and 35 containers, with officials now acting in terms of the Informal Trading By-law of 2014.
