Two individuals were left seriously injured after a Hyundai H100 overturned on the N11, near Ingogo, on Monday afternoon, 25 November 2024.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 pm, with sources on the scene stating that it remains unclear how the motorist managed to overturn the vehicle, especially as the road in question is a straight stretch.
However, an official source revealed that a passing motorist came across the overturned Hyundai H100 and, fearing the worst, immediately alerted emergency personnel to the scene for assistance.
KwaZulu-Private Ambulance and KwaZulu-Emergency Medical Services responded immediately, rushing to the scene where they found two individuals who had sustained injuries. Upon assessing the situation, paramedics discovered that one of the individuals had suffered life-threatening injuries, while the other occupant was found to have sustained serious injuries.
Furthermore, the emergency personnel wasted no time in stabilising both patients on the scene before transporting them to hospital for urgent medical treatment.
In the wake of this incident, and with the relentless heat of recent days showing no signs of easing, Road Angels South Africa has issued a stern reminder to all motorists to adhere strictly to the rules of the road. “Also keep hydrated during hot days, and be patient with other motorists, as the roads are becoming busier with the exams that have now finished,” said Road Angels South Africa.
This incident will now undergo further investigations to determine the exact cause of the overturn. What are your thoughts on this matter? Share your views in the comment section below.
