Two women and eight-month-old baby slain at Ingogo farm

A heinous murder occurred on Schuilklip Farm in Ingogo, KZN, on Friday night, 12 July 2024, when two women and an eight-month-old baby were slain.

The tragic crime came to light when, according to an official police source, a woman went to the farm on Friday afternoon at approximately 4:30 pm after struggling to get hold of the 62-year-old woman living at the homestead, situated on Schuilklip Farm.

“When she arrived, she discovered blood stains on the kitchen veranda, and the door was slightly open. She also found the body of a 29-year-old woman who lived on the premises in a pool of blood,” said the police source, who further noted that after the grisly discovery, the woman immediately contacted the police.

Upon the police’s arrival, law enforcement found the body of the young woman, as well as the body of an eight-month-old infant and the body of the 62-year-old woman. The elderly woman’s body was found outside the house, with a screwdriver in her stomach.

According to the police source, the suspect is believed to be a Lesotho national who previously worked as a herdsman and remains at large.

Newcastle SAPS spokesperson Lizzy Arumugam confirmed the incident and the information from the police source, noting that further police investigations were currently underway. Additionally, anyone who has information on the crime or the whereabouts of the suspect is urged to approach the Ingogo SAPS, immediately.
