According to Newcastle SAPS spokesperson Lizzy Arumugam, the sequence of events took a dark turn when the resident attempted to access a local shop along the road.

Reportedly, upon his arrival at the store, the man encountered obstruction from another individual who blocked his path, prompting him to head towards another store to avoid confrontation. However, the situation escalated as he found himself trailed by the individual and another man.

Arumugam recounted that the men started stabbing the man from the back, resulting in wounds to his back, head, and ribs.

Fortunately, timely assistance reached the victim, who was transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention. “Police launched an investigation leading to the arrest of two males,” stated Arumugam, shedding light on the subsequent developments. The suspects made their appearance before the Newcastle Magistrate Court on 29 January 2024.

While legal proceedings are underway, Arumugam disclosed that the accused individuals face charges of attempted murder, underscoring that law enforcement agencies are diligently pursuing further investigations into the matter.

As the case progresses through the judicial system, public attention remains captivated by the alarming incident. What are your thoughts on the above-mentioned? Share your views in the comment section below.
