A total of 10 people found themselves injured in the aftermath of two separate collisions that occurred over the past weekend.

The incidents placed emergency responders on heightened alert as they worked to mitigate the potential for further devastation in the wake of the collisions.
One of the accidents transpired on Saturday evening, 26 August 2023, involving a head on collision between a bakkie and a taxi along the N11 in Newcastle.
In the aftermath of this accident, initial reports indicate that the circumstances leading to the collision are currently shrouded in uncertainty. Chantelle Botha, spokesperson for KwaZulu Private Ambulance, divulged that paramedics present at the scene identified two patients with serious injuries, while an additional pair sustained minor injuries.

Botha affirmed, ” The patients were treated on scene before being transported to the hospital for further treatment.”
A night prior, on Friday, 25 August 2023, the emergency medical services were called to the scene of a collision, this time on the R34 in close proximity to Utrecht. This incident involved a taxi that had collided with a trailer attached to another vehicle.
A total of six individuals bore the brunt of this collision, and according to Botha, the nature of the sustained injuries ranged from minor to severe. Following care administered by paramedics at the scene, the injured parties were transported to a hospital to receive further medical attention.
