In a harrowing incident on Tuesday morning, 1 August 2023, four people suffered injuries after a head on collision involving two trucks and a taxi occurred on Peter’s Street in Ezakheni, near Ladysmith.
IPSS Medical Rescue, first responders to the scene, reported, “The drivers of both trucks and one of their passengers were found to be entrapped and were extricated by Ladysmith Fire Department.”
While the exact cause of the collision remains unclear, IPSS Medical Rescue attended to the situation, stabilising two critically injured patients before transferring them to a nearby medical facility.
An additional two patients with moderate injuries were efficiently transported by other emergency services. Notably, all passengers in the taxi emerged unharmed.
In the aftermath of the accident, IPSS Medical Rescue expressed their gratitude towards EMRS, Ladysmith Fire Department, the Traffic Department, and other assisting services who joined forces to handle the emergency effectively.
