While the majority of the dams are maintaining stability, some have experienced slight declines in their water levels, according to the latest findings.
Here’s an overview of the current dam levels in KwaZulu-Natal, as reported by the Department:
Albert Falls Dam: Experienced a minor decline, dropping from 99% last week to 98.7% this week.
Bivane Dam: Currently stands at 100.4%, a slight decrease from the previous week’s 100.5%.
Craigie Burn Dam: Showed a slight improvement, with current levels at 99.7% compared to 99.5% last week.
Driel Barrage Dam: Remains unchanged, maintaining a steady water level of 93.4%.
Goedertrouw Dam: No change in water levels this week, remaining at 100.1%.
Hazelmere Dam: Dropped from 57.3% last week to 56.6% this week.
Hluhluwe Dam: Levels improved from 99.2% last week to 99% this week.
Inanda Dam: Currently stands at 99.5%, slightly down from the previous week’s 100.1%.
Klipfontein Dam: No changes were observed this week, with levels remaining steady at 99.7%.
Mearns Dam: Experienced a slight decline, dropping from 86.3% last week to 85.9% this week.
Midmar Dam: Currently at 94.9%, compared to 95.3% in the previous week.
Nagle Dam: Saw a minor decline, dropping from 89.3% last week to 88.1% this week.
Newcastle’s Ntshingwayo Dam: Currently at 74.7% as opposed to the previous week’s 75.3%.
Pongolapoort Dam: Levels reported at 85.2%, slightly down from the previous week’s 85.4%.
Spioenkop Dam: Experienced a slight decline, with levels dropping from 96.1% last week to 95.4% this week.
Spring Grove Dam: Witnessed a decrease in levels, declining from 81.2% to 79.5% this week.
Wagendrift Dam: Water levels dropped from 97.5% last week to 97% this week.
Woodstock Dam: Remains unchanged, maintaining a steady water level of 99.8%.
Zaaihoek Dam: No changes were observed this week, with levels remaining steady at 90.6%.
