According to an official source present at the scene, the circumstances surrounding the collision are unclear as the two drivers provided contrasting narratives.

However, the source did mention that the weather and wet road conditions might have played a role in the incident.

The motorist operating the car chose not to offer any comments to the media. In contrast, the taxi driver, who was willing to share his account, claimed that he was driving down Allen Street towards the CBD at the time of the accident.

“As I was crossing the intersection, the car came from Vlam’s side and hit my vehicle on the side,” stated the taxi driver, recounting the moments leading up to the collision.

As a result of the impact, the right side of the taxi sustained minor damage, and one of its wheels was damaged. The car involved in the collision also suffered some minor damage.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported at the scene, as confirmed by the official source. However, the source issued a word of caution, highlighting that the current inclement weather conditions could potentially lead to more accidents throughout the day. Motorists are, therefore, strongly urged to exercise caution and prudence while navigating the roads.

While the cause of the collision remains under investigation, authorities are considering the weather conditions as a contributing factor. They remind all drivers to maintain safe driving practices, especially during adverse weather situations.

As the investigation unfolds, officials will be looking into all available evidence to determine the exact cause of the accident and to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
