In a heart-wrenching incident, a house fire just outside of Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal, claimed the life of a child on Sunday morning, 25 June 2023.
The incident unfolded in the Ezakheni area, prompting a swift response from emergency personnel.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue, their team received an emergency call regarding a house fire in the Ezakheni vicinity on Sunday morning.
While the exact circumstances leading to the blaze are currently unknown, the medical response organisation stated, “On arrival of medics, they found a single home engulfed in flames. Ladysmith Fire Department and Ezakheni Fire Department extinguished the flames.”
Tragically, despite the efforts of the emergency responders, a young child was unable to escape the inferno and was declared deceased at the scene by IPSS Medical Rescue medics.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, as authorities seek to uncover the factors that led to this devastating incident.
