In an incident on Sunday evening, June 11, 2023, a collision occurred at the intersection of the N11 and R34. According to reports, this resulted in three individuals sustaining severe injuries.

The exact details surrounding the head on collision between an Opel Corsa and a Volkswagen Polo remain unclear. This has left authorities with ongoing questions about the sequence of events leading up to the incident.

An eyewitness at the scene alleged that the Polo, traveling from Utrecht along the R34, failed to adhere to a stop signal at the intersection. This violation ultimately led to the Corsa, en route from Volksrust to Newcastle, colliding with the Polo.

“The patients received on-scene treatment before being swiftly transported to the hospital for further medical attention,” stated Botha, underscoring the urgency and gravity of the situation.

Furthermore, both officials and emergency responders are urging all motorists to exercise utmost caution. This is especially when traversing through this particular area.
