Double murder uncovered as men’s bodies found on Madadeni Road

Madadeni SAPS detectives are actively investigating a shocking double murder case after the bodies of two men, brutally assaulted and left for dead, were discovered on a road in Madadeni.

The lifeless bodies were found on Saturday morning, May 13, 2023, at approximately 9 am.

Providing details of the crime scene, Newcastle SAPS spokesperson Lizzy Arumugam revealed that the victims were found in New Stands, Madadeni. Responding swiftly to a complaint regarding the presence of two bodies on the road, the police arrived at the scene within moments.

Upon arrival, investigators discovered the two men’s bodies, bearing evidence of savage violence. Arumugam described the extent of the brutality inflicted upon them, stating, “Both victims were subjected to a merciless assault involving blunt objects, panga knives, and cane knives.”

They suffered severe head injuries, stab wounds, and lacerations. Their hands had been tied with belts behind their backs.”

The motive behind this heinous crime remains unknown, and the perpetrators are currently at large. However, Arumugam assured the public that an intensive police investigation is underway to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
