Emergency personnel rushed to the scene to attend to the wounded and clear the scene before another crash occurred.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance spokesperson Chantelle Botha explained that when emergency services arrived, two vehicles had been involved in the crash. “The patients were treated on scene before being transported to the hospital for further treatment,” said Botha.

Two of the patients suffered serious injuries, while one was fortunate to escape with minor injuries. According to an official source from the scene, the driver of the Chevrolet was entrapped in his vehicle following the incident and had to be extracted.

The exact cause of the collision is unknown at this time. However, motorists are urged to practice caution when travelling on wet road surfaces.
