17 People injured in early morning car and taxi collision

A collision between a car and a taxi on Tuesday morning, 2 May 2023, has left multiple people injured. The incident occurred shortly after 7 am on the road between the Asiphephe Bridge and Keyway Motors in Madadeni, KwaZulu-Natal.

The two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions on the road when they collided head-on, although officials at the scene could not provide further details on how the crash occurred.

According to a traffic official, a total of 17 people were injured in the collision. Of these, 15 were from the taxi and two were from the car. Four of the injured were reportedly in a serious condition.

Paramedics and emergency personnel were on the scene to attend to the injured and ensure that the area was cleared so that traffic could resume on the road.
